Bahan Membuat Gujarati Dal
- Prepare 1.5 cups of Toor/tuvar dal/motor in bengali.
- It's 1/2 tbsp of Refined Oil.
- It's 1/2 tbsp of Ghee.

- Prepare to taste of Salt.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of Mustard seeds.
- You need 3/4 tsp of Cumin seeds.
- It's 1/2 tsp of Asafoetida.
- Prepare as needed of Curry leaves a sprig.
- It's 2 pieces of Dry red chilli.
- You need 1 tbsp of Cocum/Tamarind juice.
- Prepare 1 inch piece of Cinnamon stick.
- You need 3-4 pieces of Cloves.

Langkah Memasak Gujarati Dal
- Pressure cook the dal with water for around 4-5 whistles and then churn it with a hand blender..
- Heat oil and ghee. Temper with mustard,cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves,dry red chilli, curry leaves, asafoetida and let them fragrant and splutter..
- Add tomato chopped and stir everything well. Cook it for 2-3 mins until the tomato turn mushy. Then add the churned dal and water. Let it come to a boil. Bubble it on low-medium heat.Now add salt,turmeric, red chilli, cumin, coriander powder, cocum and give it a good mix..
- Add the jaggery, coriander leaves choppedand then let the dal simmer for about 8-10 mins on a low flame.Once the dal is cooked and has the proper consistency turn off the flame. Serve it hot with plain rice or roti..
