Bahan Membuat Gujarati Dal

  1. Prepare 1.5 cups of Toor/tuvar dal/motor in bengali.
  2. It's 1/2 tbsp of Refined Oil.
  3. It's 1/2 tbsp of Ghee.
  4. It's 1 of Tomato chopped medium size.
  5. You need 1 tbsp of Coriander leaves chopped.
  6. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.
  7. You need 1/2 tsp of Red chilli powder.
  8. Prepare to taste of Jaggery a lump.
  9. It's 1/2 tsp of Coriander powder.
  10. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Cumin powder.
  11. You need to taste of Lemon juice.
  12. Prepare to taste of Salt.
  13. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Mustard seeds.
  14. You need 3/4 tsp of Cumin seeds.
  15. It's 1/2 tsp of Asafoetida.
  16. Prepare as needed of Curry leaves a sprig.
  17. It's 2 pieces of Dry red chilli.
  18. You need 1 tbsp of Cocum/Tamarind juice.
  19. Prepare 1 inch piece of Cinnamon stick.
  20. You need 3-4 pieces of Cloves.
  21. It's as needed of Water.

Langkah Memasak Gujarati Dal

  1. Pressure cook the dal with water for around 4-5 whistles and then churn it with a hand blender..
  2. Heat oil and ghee. Temper with mustard,cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves,dry red chilli, curry leaves, asafoetida and let them fragrant and splutter..
  3. Add tomato chopped and stir everything well. Cook it for 2-3 mins until the tomato turn mushy. Then add the churned dal and water. Let it come to a boil. Bubble it on low-medium heat.Now add salt,turmeric, red chilli, cumin, coriander powder, cocum and give it a good mix..
  4. Add the jaggery, coriander leaves choppedand then let the dal simmer for about 8-10 mins on a low flame.Once the dal is cooked and has the proper consistency turn off the flame. Serve it hot with plain rice or roti..
