I love the Kadhi, which is very delicious and different from my punjabi kadhi.
Kadhi and Khichdi - A popular Gujarati food, Khichdi is rice and lentils cooked together with spices and is served with Kadhi, a warm yogurt based soup.
Bahan Membuat Gujarati kadi and khichdi
- You need 500 Gms of Curd.
- Prepare 50 Gms of Besan.
- Prepare 30 Gms of Sugar.
- Prepare 1 of Garlic.
- You need 1 Inch of Ginger.
- You need 6 of Green Chillies.
- Prepare 1 1/2 Tsp of Salt.
- Prepare 1 Tsp of Jeera.
- You need 1 Tsp of Hing.
- You need 10 of Curry Leaves.
- It's 2 of Cloves.
- It's 1 Inch of Cinnamon.
- You need 1 Litre of Water.
- You need 3 Tbsp of Ghee.
- You need of For KHICHDI :.
- Prepare 1 Bowl of Rice.
- Prepare 1 Bowl of Green Moong Dal.
- You need 6 Bowls of Water.
- It's 1 1/2 Tsp of Salt.
- It's 1 Tsp of Turmeric powder.
- It's 1 Tsp of Red Chilli Powder.
- Prepare 1 Tsp of Jeera.
- Prepare 2 of Bay Leaves.
- It's 3 Tbsp of Ghee.
- Prepare 1 Tsp of Hing.
- You need 1 Tsp of Garlic Chopped.
- Prepare 2 of Cloves.
- You need leaves of Coriander.
Langkah Memasak Gujarati kadi and khichdi
- Kadi method.
- Mix curd, besan and water in a mixer and keep aside..
- Crush garlic, ginger and green chillies and keep aside.
- Now take a wok. Add ghee. Heat. Put jeera let it crackle. Add cloves, Hing, cinnamon and curry leaves. Now add ginger, garlic and green chillies crushed..
- When u get nice aroma add curd and besan batter to it. Add salt and sugar. Bring it to 1 boil..
- Now cook in medium heat for 20 min or you see a layer of ghee on top..
- Switch off gas. Add coriander leaves. Your Kadi is ready😊.
- For KHICHDI.
- Clean and wash rice and dal..
- Now pressure cook rice and dal by adding salt, turmeric powder and water. Cook for 3 whistles or 10 min..
- Let it cool down. Now take a tadka pan. Add ghee. Heat. Add jeera and let it crackle..
- Now add hing, garlic and bay leaves. Cook till garlic turns golden..
- Now add cloves and red chilli powder. Switch off gas. Pour this tadka on khichdi..
- Your yummy Gujarati Kadi & Khichdi is ready to eat. Enjoy😊.
Either which way, both type of kadhi are delicious on their own. I have been making this Gujarati version much more recently especially since I started using my Instant Pot to make it! gujarati kadi and khichdi. Gujarati Dish Khichdi and Kadhi was generally served as Prasadam in temples. It is more watery than Punjabi kadhi and I particularly like the sweet-sourness that is typical of gujarati cooking. This kadhi is great to eat with plain rice or khichdi.
