Khichdi Moong Dal Khichdi is a complete meal in itself. For those unaware, khichdi is a complete meal made with rice and lentils which are pressure cooked together and in India it's synonyms with illness. Khichdi is a South Asian rice dish made from rice and dal (the split version of pulses like lentils, peas, mung beans, etc.).

Bahan Membuat Khichdi

  1. You need of For khichdi.
  2. It's 1 cup of Basmati rice.
  3. Prepare 1/2 cup of Masoor dal + moong dal.
  4. You need 4 cup of Water.
  5. It's 1 of Chopped onion.
  6. You need 1 tsp of Ginger, garlic paste.
  7. Prepare 1/2 cup of Green peas.
  8. You need 4 pieces of Cauliflower.
  9. It's 1 of whole dry red chilli.
  10. You need 1 pinch of Cumin seeds.
  11. Prepare 1 tsp of Turmeric powder.
  12. You need 1 tsp of Coriander powder.
  13. It's 1/2 tsp of Red chilli powder.
  14. It's to taste of Salt.
  15. It's 1 tbsp of Oil.

Langkah Memasak Khichdi

  1. Heat oil in a pan and fry cauliflower florets.
  2. In a pressure cooker add rice, dal, ginger,garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, peas, cauliflower and water..
  3. Close the cooker and steam it..
  4. When the cooker release the whistle switch off the gas.
  5. .After some time we open the cooker lid..
  6. . Add salt and mix well..
  7. Heat oil in a pan..
  8. Add cumin seeds and a whole dry red chilli to crackle..
  9. Add onion and saute till onion turns golden brown and pour it over the khichdi..
  10. Serve withbaingan bharta,aloo chokha,mint coriander chutney,curd,ghee,roasted papad,cucumber watermelon salad and sattu drink.

I am sharing a unique khichdi called Hyderabadi khichdi. The basic khichdi is a simple mix of rice and moong dal cooked with a ghee seasoning of cumin, ginger, green chilies, and turmeric powder. This imparts a tangy twist to the toor dal khichdi making it holistic in terms of taste too. Make sure you top your dal khichdi with generous amounts of melted ghee.
