Khichdi Moong Dal Khichdi is a complete meal in itself. For those unaware, khichdi is a complete meal made with rice and lentils which are pressure cooked together and in India it's synonyms with illness. Khichdi is a South Asian rice dish made from rice and dal (the split version of pulses like lentils, peas, mung beans, etc.).

Bahan Membuat Khichdi

  1. You need 500 grams of basmati rice(soaked for 30 minutes).
  2. It's 3-4 tablespoons of masoor dal washed & soaked with rice.
  3. Prepare 1 of small onion.
  4. It's 1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste.
  5. You need 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
  6. Prepare Few of coriander leaves.
  7. Prepare 1 teaspoon of Salt.
  8. It's 3-4 of Cinnamon sticks.
  9. Prepare 5-6 of Cloves.
  10. You need 4-5 of Cardamoms.
  11. Prepare little of shahzeera.
  12. It's as required of Oil for cooking.

Langkah Memasak Khichdi

  1. Take a cookware dish and keep on medium flame and add oil..
  2. Then add chopped onions let it fry it light brown then immediately add ginger garlic paste sauté a little..
  3. Then add water almost 2 glasses or as required and all spices of Garam masala mentioned above then add salt & coriander leaves..
  4. Let the water come to boiling hot level then add the soaked rice with masoor dal keep it for one more boil then simmer flame & cover the lid for about 5 minutes then off the flame.
  5. It’s ready to serve !!.
  6. Tip of the day: Make sure the rice is not overcooked it won’t look nice so add water accordingly in rice. And as always I say never serve it right from the stove when it’s cooked especially rice always once cooked u just give it 10-15 minutes to settle down then when u serve it rice looks very nice non-sticky..
