Mandazi (Swahili: Mandazi, Maandazi), is a form of fried bread that originated on the Swahili Coast.
It is one of the principal dishes in the cuisine of the Swahili people who inhabit the Coastal Region of Kenya and Tanzania The dish is popular in the region, as it is convenient to make.
Mandazi is a popular East-African snack, usually eaten in breakfast with tea or coffee.
Bahan Membuat Eggy mandazi
- Prepare of all purpose flour.
- It's of level tablespoons baking powder.
- You need of eggs(the more the softer and yummier).
- It's of Water or milk.
- You need of sugar.
- Prepare of salt.
- It's of oil.
- It's of More oil for deep frying.
Langkah Memasak Eggy mandazi
- Mix the flour with sugar,baking powder,salt and make a well..
- Into the well goes your beaten eggs and 2 tablespoons oil then start folding in the flour mixture..
- Start adding in the water or milk and get a firm dough(not wet/very soft and not too hard or stiff).
- Knead the dough for 10mins then cover it with a clean kitchen towel for 30mins to 1hr..
- Knead the dough and roll out on an oily surface..
- Cut into shapes of your choice and deep fry in hot oil until golden brown..
- When your mandazis start cooling, put them in plastic bags so they remain soft..
- The best thing about mandazis is that you can make so many and put them in the fridge for the week..
