Mandazi (Swahili: Mandazi, Maandazi), is a form of fried bread that originated on the Swahili Coast.
It is one of the principal dishes in the cuisine of the Swahili people who inhabit the Coastal Region of Kenya and Tanzania The dish is popular in the region, as it is convenient to make.
Bahan Membuat Plain Mandazi
- It's of flour.
- It's of instant active yeast.
- You need of sugar.
- You need of warm milk.
- You need of butter.
- It's of salt.
- Prepare of eggs.
Langkah Memasak Plain Mandazi
- Add flour, salt, yeast and sugar in bowl, whisk to mix.
- Whisk warm milk and butter, add to flour mixture.
- Pour in beaten eggs.
- Mix dough until rough dough forms. Knead a few minutes until just combined.
- Bowl the oil and dough. Cover and let rise in warm place for 1 hour.
- Once risen, divide dough into four pieces. Take one piece, roll it out and use knife to cut pieces..
- Repeat until dough is finished. Let rest 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in deep heavy pan, add mandazi and fry until golden brown.
- Serve with tea or as a snack.
